GTSC'S EM2026: Shifting the Mindset

Tuesday, September 29, 2026 (1:00 PM - 6:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

This September EM2026 will bring together FEMA leadership, state and local emergency managers, technology innovators, and industry to address a defining question for the profession: How do we adapt, accelerate, and apply advanced technology to strengthen emergency management where disasters actually begin — in our communities?

The day follows the major functions of FEMA — preparedness, mitigation, technology, response and recovery, and procurement — but through a new lens: What should FEMA do? What should states and communities be able to do for themselves? And how can technology, industry, and new operating models help all levels move faster and serve communities better?

Keynote: Cameron Hamilton, Administrator, FEMA

Chair: Eric Leckey, former Associate Administrator for Mission Support, FEMA
